Abstract

This article presents the research proposal whose objective is to design and build an innovative extruder capable of processing thermoplastic polymers and recycling 3D printing waste in a university laboratory. The result will be the production of RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) filaments with a diameter of 1.75 mm, suitable for use in 3D printers. VDI methods 2221 and 2225 are applied to determine the structure of the extruder, as well as its mechanical and electrical components, along with the necessary calculations to ensure accurate construction. The exponential growth of 3D printing has led to an increase in the generation of thermoplastic plastic waste used in this process. In order to address this challenge and promote sustainable practices, the development of a specialized extruder is proposed to recycle these materials and produce high-quality RPET filaments for the community of the 3D printing laboratory of the Señor de Sipán University. To carry out this investigation, the VDI 2221 and 2225 design and analysis methods were used. These approaches will be applied to determine the optimal structure of the extruder, its mechanical and electrical components, as well as to perform the necessary calculations to ensure compliance. of production requirements.
